After airbox delete

Has anyone found, or used, a mud flap, or something to help keep debris off the shock, etc. after an airbox delete?

I have seen were people make flaps like you speak of to keep mud from getting all over everything after ditching the airbox, but I don't understand why they don't just pull the big rubber tube off if it, and leave it in place. There is plenty of room for a pod filter with it still in place.

That's what I did, just cut that tube off. Came off real easy. If you still have the airbox, un-delete it.

Could do a old trash can yeah. Or just really any flexible plastic. Got good points you could zip tie it to without interfering with the tire/chain. Maybe one of those plastic gutters cut down the middle? Idk the actual name for em. Could zip tie the top and bottom and would have enough flex to not interfere with the shock... Hell could use one of the tops to a plastic storage tub, would be really cheap too if you dont have one laying around. Would be far enough away from the exhaust that I wouldnt be concerned with it being melted by the exhaust

The empty airbox would make a nice place to keep tools and some small spare parts. Just cover the hole where the tube connects.

These are some GREAT ideas! Reinstalling the airbox would be a PITA, but doable. Have been waiting because I’m still working on connecting for tuning the ECU. Don’t want to mod airbox until running perfectly. I’m adding lights up front, so empty airbox would also be a great electronics bay (if properly sealed—which would make it harder to get back in…). I knew you guys would come up with some great thoughts! I appreciate the responses.

As jeffrey mentioned, the trash can mod. Dirt cheap, worked great.
Then I cut out another piece to hold the wiring that used to mount to the airbox.

Well done! That looks really good, and will allow me to keep my airbox intact in case I want to revert to original. Thanks!

My thoughts exactly. When we sold it, I gave the new owner every original part.
