Longer throttle cable for CSC TT250?

I've installed the Nibbi PE28fl on my 2019 CSC TT250 and now the throttle cable doesn't have enough free play, I can't get below 2000rpms turned all the way left. It pushes up against the gas tank above the carb and I planned to dent it in with a ball pean hammer to make room, but even with the gas tank removed and no obstructions it probably needs another centimeter of travel. Other people here have said the Nibbi throttle cable works well. I ordered this but it doesn't fit into the stock throttle assembly:

Looking for solutions here. Is there a longer throttle cable with an elbow to fit the stock throttle assembly? Do I need an aftermarket throttle assembly now?

I'm thinking I'll take a Dremel to the plastic adjustment nut, take some material off and see if that gives me enough room.
