Brozz Suspension Mods

All,

I've been tinkering with my Brozz and can't seem to stiffen up the suspension to support my style of riding so far I've changed the oil to a heavy 20 with and added 360ml which is 30ml more than stock. For example, I rode with my wife yesterday on her DRZ 125L and I bottomed out several times during our ride on relatively moderate fire roads. I rode her bike a count force it to bottom out. My Brozz bottoms out with hard braking! I'm considering upgrading to CR250 forks and shock and I'm wondering if anybody's done any upgrades to their Brozz suspension lately.

Heavier fluid will not compensate for incorrect preload or too light of a spring rate. You may be able to find off the shelf spring options, but it would require measuring the outside diameter and length of the spring. Once you know that then it is a matter of knowing the full travel of the forks as well as the bike weight with rider to calculate an appropriate spring rate.

Thanks, I've rebuilt the shocks ground up. I suppose I should have checked the spring dimensions maybe I'll do a write up for the board.

My storm is really soft in the front, potholes will bottom it out and as you said hard braking. May tear into it once it starts getting too cold to ride.

If you don't manage to find a spring that will work there are a couple companies out there that will cuatom make a set for you. The last quote I got was $129, so its a bit pricey, but not horrible.

You can also add some preload. Cut spacers out of PVC pipe (if you can find the right diameter). There are several write-ups online.

Mainly single, but they could probably do a dual rate if desired.

The forks are the best part of the Storm suspension. I would check the fluid and assembly STAT if you’re having an issue.. Mine are how they came in the box and I run over speed tables at 30 mph like they’re nothing going to/from work everyday w/o issue.
