Shineray XY250GY-2

Just found out about the Shineray XY250GY-2.

However, I can not find out if this bike is California legal (street or off-road).

I've tried everything to figure out if it is... I also can only find 1 place that sells them. Anyone able to provide more insight?

I'd say no....not street legal. You may be able to get it stickered for dirt-only.
What year is the bike? Do you have a pic?
So far, the only street legal China bike dual sports are the CSC TT250 and the SSR XF 250. If more have become available for CARB approval, I have not heard.

Weird.... According to what I just read on the American Lifan FB page they have no dealers in CA....but do have at least one in AZ..if it is CARB approved I would think they would have arranged for a dealer or distributorship... I hope it is approved because it looks like a fun bike.

Sadly, the Lifan is not CARB certified. I had asked American Lifan on their FB page, and they confirmed it will not be sold here.

Well that is a bummer. They might want to let the places listing it for sale know, because they list it as California legal, unless they are stating off road legal only?

You also have to watch out for vendor/web sites will say "CARB Approved" but it will only be red or green sticker for dirt-only. Not plateable for the street.

Like here on the SPS site in the "California Legal" section.
