Went to a "candy store" today
I happened to be in Omaha, NE today with my kids, so I decided to make a stop at a local dealership that sells several different "makes" and models of Chinese dirt bikes, atv's, go karts, side-by-sides, street bikes etc.
While I await my bike in shipment, it was pretty cool to have the opportunity to see these products in person rather than just online. I was able to get a feel for the Apollo and Hawk that were sitting right next it each other. The Hawk's rear suspension felt pretty soft. I remember that from my Enforcer. They also had the same bike as the Venom X22-R (just with a different name on it). It felt like a pretty solid bike. I'm interested to hear from owners of that bike about how it holds up. My other reason for going was to try on some atvs for kids. I wanted to make sure that my kids could fit on them before I were to buy one. As you can see here, he was pretty psyched about this: |

Yes, and they had a pretty tempting deal on that 110cc atv at $699. It has a remote kill switch and a speed restricter. I am going to wait and see if I can find a better deal online. The assembly is half the fun...

That is actually the main reason I didn't buy my newest Hawk through Ryker, they wouldn't let me have it in crate form. I would rather wait a week or two, save myself a couple hundred bucks, and put it together myself.

By doing it the-assemble-it-yourself way you know who is to blame if it is not assembled well. There is plenty of assistance available on this site on assembly technique... ARH

I am sure there are a thousand and one reasons lawyers would make sure it wouldn't work, but the ultimate brick and mortar store fantasy would be one in which you can help assemble a bike yourself, and the price would be in line with online dealers. One thing to note is that CSC kind of shows that brick and mortar dealers aren't even really necessary as far as Chinese bikes go, although I have not seen anyone try to copy that model as of yet.
For $699, I would seriously think of buying one off the showroom floor--there has to be some kind of support for a physical dealer as I can imagine without one, relying solely on internet and mail for warranty parts, or title (not really necessary for off-road, but can be a big hassle as some members have shown with their street-legal bikes) can be a pain in the rear!

Yes, they did say they service the Chinese bikes, and they’d work on a bike that was bought online, so that’s nice. I want to see how my new Apollo holds up first for a few months before pulling the trigger on the atv.
