Hanoi to ban motorcycles
I was just reading the other day that Vietnam is rapidly approaching China in terms of motorcycle manufacturing and sales. Then I saw this:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/05/asia/h...ban/index.html "Hanoi slated to ban motorbikes, 'the culture of Vietnam,' by 2030" |

It won't happen unless the government wants to pick a fight on the street with it's citizens, I know for sure that if such thing happens here in Costa Rica (we are heading Hanoi's motorcycle numbers, already close to 50/50 with cars in less than a decade) the protest would get wild! Count me in as a protester.

I'm betting that it's coming from a similar perspective as China. Motorcycles are seen as the transportation of the poor, whereas cars represent affluence. Quite the opposite where I live because motorcycles are seen as toys here, purchased by those with disposable income.
