85mph!

got my hawk up to 85 today passed a harley fxr like it was sitting still! then a corvette passed me like i was standing still. could of milked another 10mph out of it i think.

Or was it downhill?

85 is possible with the right gearing and conditions for the power this bike makes, but I bet it took a loooooooong time to get there.

Surely that was downhill with a tailwind. Holy cow. I've had mine a little over 70 and that was about all I wanted with the knobby tires, and I'm a bit of a speed freak myself. Tell us more tim

What sprockets are you using?

With 17t front and 39t rear on the little Bashan 197cc and 87mph is about it's max speed (RPMs are MAXED!) the way the transmission is geared

Can't wait to see someone beat the land speed record on a small cc China Bike

I believe that Cleveland Cycle Werks were pushing for something like this a few years ago. If I remember, someone got near or at 100 mph on a two-way speed run. It used to be on their site (and might still be, but I have not looked into top speed records since we discussed it a few years back here, referring to CCW's site)

I think Tim's yanking our chains. lol Last I spoke to him he was going to be heading to Alaska for a few months. So he must be on the road doing 85 with the bike on the rack.
