Thumbs Up Hello from Florida !

I recently joined this forum to gain info about the Hawk 250 before I bought one.I have found tons of useful info here and finally made a decision. I just registered my bike yesterday. There was a new girl at the DMV. For like 15 minutes, she had me kinda worried that there would be a problem. I guess she didn't really want to admit that she didn't know what to do. Finally ,she went to get her boss. I don't know what she was looking at on her computer ,but her boss came over and said, " you didn't scroll far enough to the right." The girl said ,"oops" and I was outta there in 5 minutes. So, if anyone is trying to get registered, make sure you ask her to scroll to the right

Registration is good. Did you get a chance to ride your Hawk today?

My bad you are probably putting it together right now.

I have been riding around the neighborhood , but I haven't gotten the thing to run just right yet. I've only put 22 miles on it.

Welcome!

It'll take a little fiddling to get it running just right, but you'll love it after that.

Man. . .there's been A LOT of fiddling. I am new to working on motorcycles so everything I do is learned from the internet (mostly here). Although I HAVE been riding it, it's been a bit discouraging , but today was different! I did a valve adjustment and I think I may have adjusted them on the wrong stroke because it ran like crap. I let it cool overnight , did it again today I can finally hit 55 without the bike sounding like it's begging for mercy.I haven't checked top speed yet. I even hit a few wheelies in my yard. It runs best with the choke half engaged so I still have to figure that out. I ordered a jet kit and plan to "fiddle" with the carb a bit and see what happens. I am not sure how to adjust the pilot jet without taking the carb off. I already pulled the black plug off and I have it turned out 2 turns. I'm about to go see if I can find some kind of really cheap 90 degree screwdriver so I can adjust it with the bike running. I'll talk to you guys later.
