bogies not so standard go cart....hehehe
so yeah... when i get bored, my brain starts going to places i would wish on NO one...and starts getting me in trouble for what my hands start creating....
heres the basics... go cart i built 2 yrs ago now, powered by a honda XL75 engine, CB400 dual piston caliper on an 11" rotor, murray garden tractor tires, misc. garage door parts (i install them for a living, so i have access to keyed shaft and bearings that fit said shafts) a wheelbarrow, and a cart frame i pulled from the scrap yard.... give ya the vid for now,and add pics in a bit... since this vid i got it all painted, and added a mini pickup style bed....i was the big hit in the memorial day parade alst year representing the local librar with it, but i dont have any videos of that....just me goofing around at a car show.... |

You need supervision!
![]() Got close-up pics? It looks like you did a nice job of it. Your vid references Mr. Norm's dyno day; was that Norm Grabowski? He was awesome.

I figured that was a wheelbarrow body. I've thought of the same thing.

Love the oak bed. You created a sweet little RPU!
It looks like it was a pre-existing go-kart frame that had a little caster angle in the spindles. What did you use to form the hood? I like how it covers about 300 links of chain, that would otherwise grab ahold of whatever tender bits were available. By now, I'm sure you're aware that a 200cc pushrod China motor is just about a bolt-in deal in your kart. ![]()

The hood is actually the hood of the garden tractor i got the tires off of...LOL i sectioned out about a foot down the middle and welded it back up, not an easy task when all you have is a 200a stick welder or a .035 flux core 125a wirefeed welder.... Very delicate welding there....LOL not to mwntion making the vent holes line up again... In the pre-paint pic you can still see the murray sticker on the side of the hood...LOL
As for the chain, its much shorter than one might think, theres 2 chains, a 428 from the engine to the intermediate shaft at the front of the bucket, and a 50 chain from there to the axle... As for the bolting up of a 200, its not quite the same mounts, as the 100 and smaller to my knowledge had a smaller mounting pattern than the 125+....wouldnt be hard by any means to make it work though...LOL although someday i want to get a 500cc two stroke and build a shifter cart around that engine... Nothing like getting on the pipe on a big bore smoker....hehehe |

Great looking cart and build thread. Are you down towards the SW side, looks quite 'prairie like' in your pics.
Grand Spaulding Dodge brings back memories. So does Nickey Chevrolet(with a backwards 'K'). I was a high school kid living north of the state line when both were a big deal. I still remember some of their radio commercials on WLS and WCFL(showing my age now).
