Short answer YES , probably, Hopefully :? Maybe not.

It's a long answer. I type slow. I hope you're on the road before I ride through Gatineau next month.

Canadians here can help you, but we'll need some more info first. We've had some very poor spellers here before, all you need to do is get your point across. Some members in the past have given poor spellers grief. That's not going to happen here.

1. Do you have your bike's title in your hand now?

2. Where and how did you get your bike. New or used/Store/private sale/locked in someones garage?

3. Do you have the bill of sale?

4. Did you pay taxes?

5. Do you have a local bike shop close by?

Without knowing the answers to those questions, the answer is too long to type. I can't even give your next step to take. I think Enigmatic is near you, I can't remember if he got plated or not. I'm in Toronto, frosty is east, Jim is west, WinipegMike is in the middle, we have a Saskatchewan member too. I REALLY hope you get on the road man. Answer those questions, and the help will start flowing.

Is the registration process like the US, where every state and province has its own rules?

theEnigmatic just wrote this minutes ago.
"ask to speak to the manager or person in charge......here in CANADA I easily registered it but I went in with a title all my import docs and a safety inspection certificate, the clerk still took it all over to the boss and said we always have trouble with these bikes..they said just write out a declaration that I assure the bike meets all highway road requirements and has not been modified etc...
that was it, maybe ask if you can sign a form to declare the bike legal ...dunno man just some suggestions...if worse comes to worse you could just start crying and tell them you spent the rent money on a bike you cant drive...... "

That gooood service Fist

Quebec is a little trickier. Some guys with off road XR650s have had trouble converting them to street legal. That's not to say you'll have the same problems, though.

If you live close to the New Brunswick border, you might be able to do something with their DMV, especially if you have a friend living there. NB's dual sport laws are pretty lenient, at least in my experience.

From what I know Quebec is alot easier with rules and regulations than Ontario......I mean dont vehicles have the right of way over pedestrians over there?.pretty sure they do......I dont think you will have a problem man.
I looked over the Quebec rules for registration, and could not find anything too different from Ontario! :P
Oh yeah Quebec is also one of three provinces where the legal age to consume alcohol is 18, Ontario is not one of the other two, and I know you can still bet on NBA basketball in Quebec the OLGC banned that in Ontario way back when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were in their prime!

Good luck!
