Greetings, new Roketa DB-05H owner here
Well, I say " New Roketa DB-05H owner "
I have a sales receipt. Now I have to wait on the thing to show up! Between the freight company and the MSO, I figure late March I should be on the road with it. Purchased here -----> http://www.extreme-scooters.com/roke...bike-DB05H.htm I was a small engine mechanic for 4 years (failed business) and grew up on the 1,700 acre family farm so I am very well educated with tools, and also have other handy skills like: A diploma from the school of hard knocks. A PHD in Duck Tape & Baling Wire application. 30 years experience in J B Weld application 20 years in "Awww that'll do" auto repair 15 years as a parts department manager (a serious job ) aka. I can find stuff that tends to be hard to find, I just have very little free time to find my OWN stuff! LOL I am going to disassemble most of the bike straight out of the crate and put it back together myself from wheel to wheel using red lock-tite on everything I can! Am swapping out whatever oil is in the motor before I even start it with the non detergent 30wt stuff from dollar store. After a 15 min run in I will then drain that oil and replace it with Rotella 15w40. Do another oil change at the 100 and 500 mile mark, and will change the Rotella oil on every 1500 mile mark from there on. Past riding experience: Got my first dirt bike - A USED Honda XL70 - when I was 9 Then a brand new FUNKY light blue 1988 Yamaha DT50 when I was 12. Rode that till I got a new 1992 Yamaha RT180 when I was 16 Then spent many years, and 2 marriages, with no bike. Recently, I had inherited my late father in law's Suzuki DR125. It was wore slap out and not really worth making road worthy again, so I sold it as a "dirt bike" for $600 and sold a new in box Remington 1100 12 ga. shotgun for $700 and put the funds towards this Chinese bike. I DID go look at the "Used Jap bikes!" that every frigg'n body kept telling me I NEEDED to buy. But at $1200, every one was either wore out junk, or at best, needed tires and "some work". So I rolled the dice today and ordered the Roketa new. It is my understanding this uses the Lifan 200cc engine. IIRC Not much else to say until the bike comes in.

Looks like the Beta Alp 200 clone. My 2005 model was made by Zongshen. Red locktite is only going to make it difficult to work on in the future so consider using the blue stuff if any at all.
The bike in the pics looks to be geared like my 05 model, if so you'll probably want to change gear ratios so it's not screaming at 50 mph. |

I just now noticed, the new replacement bike, although $400 more, now has LED turn signals & tail light, but most importantly, better tires and rear DISC brake! Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Maybe this is not such a bad thing after all! ??? !
Also, the seat height on the new DB-03-200 is 720mm ( 28.3" ) vs. the old model's 830mm ( 32.6" ) That may be good, or bad, depending on how tall you are. I am kinda short at 5' 10" with a 30" inseam, so for me, the newer model with a 4.3" LOWER seat is an advantage. ( Wont be on my tippy toes when I stop! ) This may be happening for a good reason!

Alllllll'righty then.
This one was in stock, was $1,471.95 after I added a full faced helmet and a "Starter kit" with oil, NGK spark plug, and a bottle of loc-tite, I was able to use my credit card, says 7 days for delivery, FREE delivery, and also got a free leather jacket (although I already have one with the "body armor" built into it because my wife insisted I needed it to ride my 50 mph SCOOTER around town! LOL I am not sure even what color I am getting!!! It said "First Choice" -- Orange 2nd Choice --- Green Who knows! It may show up Red or black! LOL Don't care. As long as it will run and go, I are not picky. http://www.motobuys.com/db-08-200-rkta.html I know I will have to change out the sprocket(s) to make it more street friendly. But have no clue what the tooth count is on this bike until I get it here and count the teeth on the ones on the bike.

Good deal. Its hard to find any of them in stock and ready to ship. I wonder if there are a bunch of bikes sitting offshore because of the shipyard strike?

I always suggest to check out the TMEC 200 from Excalibur Motorsports. Wade is the owner and is very hands on...there are several of us with these bikes, and mine is ridden daily, 33 miles round trip to and from work, year round. I bought mine at the end of May, and so far have over 4000 miles (I was run off the road and off the bike and out of work for a month back in November. This bike replaced one I owned for over 18 months (I bought used with unknown miles) and I rode if for over 10k miles myself.
