More bike offerings soon!

Pitbike brand SSR is apparently taking the route of offering bigger bikes next month (I am not holding my breath on the time, or even if the bikes will come at all!!). They look definitely Qingqi, but perhaps via Pioneer (who is affiliated with Qingqi in some way, anyway). Info thanks to member 'MJH' on mychinamoto:

The 250 looks alot like the Qlink bikes. Engine also appears to have suzuki origins.

Does seem kind of heavy doesn't it? I'm guessing that's the wet weight as well... A Q Link XF 200 weighs 271 pounds wet.

On a side note, didn't northerndad say that Pitster Pro decided not to carry the 250 due to reliability issues? Sounds like they're going to stick with the 200 to be on the safe side. I've never heard anything negative about the 250 though, and it's been out for a few years in China hasn't it? Didn't ChinaV get one and do a write up on it on MCM a couple of years ago?

From what I remember, ChinaV had good experiences with it. I do know that the 200 is a lot more 'proven' around 'here ('here' being chinariders) via Qlink and Konker, with some exceptions of issues; but overall a good bike. JP told me that the Qingqis they have were direct imports after visiting the Qingqi factory in China, and they only brought a few (like 6 if I remember correctly) mainly to see how they hold up. But, JP has nothing but good things to say about the 200 as they were one of the biggest dealers of Qlink's XF/XP 200 bikes.

I think they often confuse shipping weight. That is probably the weight with crate and boxes.

I agree with Allen and Stew. I think 284 pounds is the curb weight, and 328 pounds is the shipping weight of the bike in a crate.

Thanks for letting us know the Qingqi 250cc bikes are arriving, Culcune.

I can take credit for the Qingqi bikes from JP Motorsports months ago, but MJH/Oengus posted the link to the SSR bikes, which adds the Qingqis to our offerings...

 OK, a little fast on the draw. A few years ago, Pioneer used to offer bikes in the US under their own brand name which looked like the Qingqi bikes--there is some sort of connection, but SSR is not talking as evidenced by this email response...

Thank you for your interest in our XF250. Now to correct one thing, Our XF200 and XF250 are not made by Qingqi. They are made by Pioneer. The 200 and the 250 will have a couple of wheel options. We have not decided which wheels to go with yet. I am not familiar with the Qingqi model but I can assume the parts will interchange. Just not the fairings. We hope to have this model out by late May so be sure to ask for a dealer application if you wish to sign up with us.

Does Qingqi make the bikes for Pioneer? Just curious because the 200 looks exactly like my Konker other than some of the plastics (like the 2 piece side panels?) Only mechanical difference I can see is rear disc.

There is some kind of connection, but I don't think they are directly linked--MJH on mychinamoto pointed out the EPA certification for Qingqi's bikes in the US, but Pioneer is not listed.

Enter the World Manufacturing Identifier into the NHSTA site and read the posted filings…..
http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/manufacture/

LAE is the WMI for QINGQI GROUP all of these motorcycles have LAE as leading characters in their VIN.

That is important because the EPA and the NHSTA will not recognize SSR or Pioneer, causing problems in some states in the titling and registering, that being the states that enforce federal regulations, which they all are supposed to be.
The EPA certificates are listed under Jinan Qingqi as the OEM of both the 200 and 250 models.
The manufacturers (stateside agent) is Qlink and Daifer respectively.
