X250 air breather?

Does anyone know which way the air breather faces coming from engine crankcase going to air box?

Could I eliminate it and just run rubber hose from crankcase directly to air box?

Does the wide part face towards air filter or towards engine? Mine looks like a cylinder with one end wider

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. On my baja the wide part goes to the front. It has a scoop. I set it on the frame for easier illistration. Hope that helps.

Below that cover there is a cylinder looking tube with one side wider that has a hose going into air box, do you know which way faces the front (hose coming from cranckase) into this cylinder?

The crankcase vent plugs into the coned side of a separator which then plugs into the left front of the air box. The cylinder head vent plugs into an oil separator, then plugs into the right front of the air box. I eliminated the cylinder head line. Not much sense in plugging the holes in the air box, as the 'scoop' is quite large. The cylinder head will need to be capped if you remove the line from there. The foam air filter should be installed. I lightly spray the foam filter with oil to trap debris. Hope that helps.

My fuel line, which is plugged into the fuel filter is visible. It's laying there because I removed the tank to take the shot.

..."coned" a better way to look at it.
Guess the other side, the flat side is towards the air box.

Not sure what the difference is. I blew air through both sides and they felt the same

You're welcome! That is correct, flat side to the air box.

Interesting. As I understand it, the port on the head is only tapped into the exhaust stream, and it receives fresh air (by venturi) to properly work with the cat. The only PCV is the vent under the carb, AFAIK. BTW, the port on my quad was plugged from the factory.
