Taotao ATA250D swing arm crack
Noticed this small crack on the swing arm a few months back and have been keeping an eye on it. Thought it might be just a mark in the paint but it has become an obvious crack. If you have a similar ATV it would be a good idea to periodically have a look. $20 to the local welding shop fixed it right up. Note the crappy original welding!

Glad you got it fixed. Can you post a pic of the repair?

Looks like it was originally an incorrect heat range. I'd fishplate the swingarm to prevent future cracking.

I just had the welder run a bead over the cracks for the time being. When I get home to my tools I'll do some reinforcement and go over the factory welds.

I tried to call you yesterday, and then was going to make a run on my TGB to find you based on where you posted you were staying. Alas, the WIND was one continuous annoying blast as I got to the edge of Yuma, before Highway 95 gets to the point of no return (other than a U-turn ). It kept me sideways and limited me to 55 mph--was not going to enjoy that for 80 or so miles! Sorry, but will try to make it up to see you one of these weekends!
