2017 Hawk 250 (Water and Rust in Cylinder)

Ok so back story My 2017 Hawk 250 has been in storage in my shed for the past 2 years. No time due to wife having cancer and she succumbed to it 6 months ago. Now my oldest wants to learn to drive a motorcycle plus join me on the trails , Me on the ATV him learning on the Hawk 250. Pulled it out and new right off to clean the mouse condo in the airbox. Charging battery i tried to kick it and it froze up, took the plug out and kicked it and rusty water came shooting out of the spark plug hole. Now my big question, how? Condensation? Should i just order a cylinder piston kit now? I am confused on how much water was in there, i am sure the rings are shot but still has compression when plug is in. Any advice on how to proceed. Oh and my throttle seems locked up too, so looks like new throttle cable and just going to get a new carb while at it. Thanks

You could try to save it, but I have an offer for you. I have a cylinder, head gasket, piston, and rings from CSC that will work for your engine, in a box in my garage. I just need to find a box for it, and if you can wait a few days for me to be done with work I can send it to you Saturday via UPS. No charge.

If you are wondering why I am being so generous, it's because I have been losing my father to throat cancer, and now dementia on top of it. I know what it feels like to be where you have been and are now, and I want to try and bring at least a little good back into your life. You have my deepest sympathies, and my condolences. I hope you are able to find some measure of peace and joy in the years to come.

Edit: I also have a stock throttle cable from my bike I can throw in there too. Don't feel guilty by the way, as this stuff is just taking up room.

If I had to guess, water must have ran down your throttle cable, into the carb, and then down the intake. It's not unheard of, although I wonder where the water came from exactly.

Thank you so much Dan! I have zero issues paying for it! Just let me know what i owe you? And i have no issues waiting, as this is going to be a project to get it going again, and the boy can learn a long the way.

And sorry to hear the news you are going through with your Dad. There's no other way to sum it up when you lost or are losing someone close to you other than it "sucks" and you have to learn to live with it.

I will send a PM with my Name and address to you, Thanks again!
