I think this is bad news for Husqvarna.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-0...transport.html
BMW is selling them off. One of the things I liked about Husqvarna was they were owned and managed by BMW, and used BMW engineered and constructed engines. Husqvarna has been in production for 110 years so I'm sure they will weather this well, maybe for the beter, but it does not encourage my short term confidence. :? EDIT It may not be bad news after all. They were bought by KTM. KTM also owns Husaberg so that may be a good match, better than BMW. http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...0B0FRF20130131

The "funny" bit is that it's not KTM that's buying Husqvara, but the CEO of KTM, using some other investment company of his. I don't know if he can be CEO (or something similar) of both companies at the same time...
KTM are practically owned by Bajaj from India. AFAIK, they have 49.9%+ of KTM and are the biggest shareholder there or something. So, it's very soap-opera, spaghetti-style of situation there |

I agree, and that's what they are saying on Thumper Talk. This has not encouraged my prior desire to buy a Husky. I am still interested but cautious.
I also like the KTMs but they are very expensive. Ditto Husaberg, which is 95% identical to a KTM. I can't find Gas Gas or Beta locally either.
