There are bearings in there.... they most likely are sealed bearings. They are cheap to replace. It's possible the chain might be super tight.

Other then that I don't know... after playing the videos the whales off the coast are replying.. maybe they know something.

Did you take the inside seals off of the bearings for this mod or were they already unsealed?

Thinking maybe they just botched the bearing install at the factory and whacked the outside of the cage with a hammer. Once that happens the bearing is never going to be right and short lived.

I've yet to see a China quad with swingarm bearings. My 200 used cheap bushings, so I replaced them with bushings that are designed for a PW80. They're much better quality, cheap and a perfect fit.

I'm talking about the axle bearings in the housing.

Good to hear you got it fixed. I would still put a grease zerk and fill it with marine grade grease. I don't know if you plan on riding were you will be going through water. This would keep the water out of the bearing and axle area. Just give it a few pumps of grease every so often and it will keep the bearings lubed up. I have added grease zerks to every swing arm on my atv and utv. Any part that swivels that i could put a grease zerk on has one. On the ball joints i used a syringe in the rubber boot to add grease. My way of vaccinating for grease worms.

Agreed.

I installed two zerks in the axle housing of my quad. One is for greasing and the other is removed during the greasing procedure, to allow air to escape. It's a trick I learned from farmers who drag trailers through creeks; if the housing is completely full of grease, water cannot enter. Since water is the primary killer of bearings, grease is cheap insurance.

BTW, that's the actual purpose behind the design of the Bearing Buddy for utility trailers. It's not to speed up the process of greasing axle bearings. After you pack the bearings by hand and then install the hub, the zerk on the Bearing Buddy allows you to fill the space between the bearings with grease, again to keep water out.

At some point I have to do that mod with my Rhino.... it spends most of its time in the water so it's a necessity.

Love to see the zirc mod

Perchance of a quick pic of where the zircs are?
Any drilling and installing tips for the zircs?
You can never have too many!

Different track; about oil for my manual shift 250cc Rhino, shall I change to an engine oil for diesel vehicles? weight/brand?
Thanks again...
