Df250rts X22R big bore kit

I am starting work on installing a big bore kit with cam, roller rockers and maybe some head work. I will update on progress and results. If anyone has any advice feel free to let me know.

Download the Honda CRF230F Shop Manual. It will come in handy. https://www.google.com/url?q=https:/...i2fu68lr12Kmu9

Also when removing the valve cover make sure you don't lose this little black rubber plug. Make sure you reinstall it too. Very easy to misplace or lose.

Gutted. I had to pull the engine because I don’t have a garage at my house. The laundry room will be my workshop for this project. The wife loves it

Must be tight spaces if you have to hang it from the ceiling.

Akshualllllyyy.... Hanging from the ceiling allows working while standing up rather than having to sit on the floor...

Wifey must be soooo happy you have a hobby. Annnddd stay home all the time instead of hanging with your buds... on the golf course, at the pool .. etc. Thing is, she wants access to the washer/dryer. On her terms.

I wish it was hanging from the ceiling. My knees are killing me today!
Can someone point me in the direction on how to post pictures the right way?

So I am really confused right now. I pulled the head and I notice it has roller rockers. I look at the cylinder and was like “that looks bigger than the 67mm piston for the big bore kit. I start measuring and it seems that the bore is around 68mm on my stock cylinder. I lowered the piston down into the cylinder to see how the new one looks compared to the stock cylinder and sure as sh$& the 67mm drops in with room to spare. I measured the new cylinder and piston and they are 67mm. What on earth is going on?

I think you have the ZS169 FMM... They're slightly redesigned from the old Honda copies, and it sounds like maybe they're nicely specc'd from Dong Feng.

Looks like you have the new 249cc engine. My stock piston was 65.5mm. Hmm, Maybe need to check what's on my Ghost.

The thing is still stamped and labeled as 165fmm in two spots on the crank case. What does this mean for the aftermarket parts like the cam. Is there a performance piston for that size bore?

I guess I'll find out when I remove my head. I have a head already ported and ready to install. I guess I better check before ordering a cam.

I will post some pictures of the head. It looks like the same cam but I do think the head is a little different.
