LF150GY stutter above half throttle

I am new member and have a new (200 mi.) 150. It hesitates or misses above half throttle. I weigh 220 lbs. Is this a carb adjustment issue, a break-in issue or a spark issue or simply not enough info.

Probably the air/fuel screw. How many turns do you have it out now?

As far as I understand air/fule adjustments - the visable screw (pointing down) is only for idle up to 1/4 throttle.

Raise the needle, check that your air filter is connected properly.

I will check the air filter. My grandparents (both sides) were Swedes.

Where from? Do you know if they were relatives to Spinnel-Anna?

mother's side - Johnson (of course) Skone, father's - Bing - military issue (birth name - Svenson - of course) area? More questions: the manual seems in error regarding fuel shut-off valve lobe positions: lobe up - ? lobe forward (side) - ? lobe down - ?

Fuel shut off needs to be up or down. The middle position is OFF. Sounds like the engine is still breaking in. I would check your air filter connection as suggested first. If all looks well there, take the bike out and run it at that stumble point for a while, then immediately shut it down. Pull the spark plug and see how it's burning. I bet it's gonna be pure white indicating a lean condition. If it's not lean, then next thing I would check is spark. Plug or CDI might be bad.

Johnson and Svenson is "americanized" versions, they probably changed from Jonsson and Svensson. Skone=Skåne? Do you get new names in the US military? When i did my militaryservice we had some guys with "war like" names (their real birth names) for example:
Krig=War
Strid=Combat
Krut=Gun powder

At the time, when my grandfather (or greatgrandfather) entered Swedish military service, last names were issued to help distinguish servicemen. There were too many with the same names. Upon leaving, the servicemen could choose to keep the issued names. This is how I understand the retelling of family history. Your Swedish spelling of names and Skone is accurate, I can readily assume. As for my bike, it awaits insurance and a weekend of testing.

Fuel line valve positions

Point of clarification - fuel shut off valve: which position for reserve - lobe up or down?

Resolution was simple - replace the spark plug. It didn't look too bad on prior inspection but KISS procedure told me to start cheap. It worked. If anyone else has a Lifan LF150GY, I'd like to hear about it.
