Moab Vid

If ya got 13 minutes to blow, here's a video my nephew shot of his trip to Moab last month with his Dad, my little brother. Some outtakes at the end.

Awesome! That was well worth the time to watch. It's amazing how much of that looked like a real-life version of Microsoft Motocross Madness from 1998. Love the outtakes!

I did not have time to watch much but appreciated what I did see :-)

I've hiked Moab, and to do it on a D/S is high on my 'bucket list'.

About those outtakes,.

I spent a bit of time this morning wiping coffee off the monitor after seeing my brother and his bike part company. Apparently, he has learned to tuck and roll in his old age.

Har, har.

Around here, no. But there is this across the the border into Cheeseland.

Now, if you want to ride your MTB up this way, Raceway Woods and Keith Andres Park in Carpentersville. Cambr just finished up doing the trails in KA and Raceway woods has real gully's to fall into.

I grew up in that area. Hundreds of people displaced and millions spent on the development of 'Richard Bong Airbase'. 70% complete when the plug was pulled. That bit of history aside, it was a great place wander as a kid. State got it and has tried to make it into something it never was. Haven't been back there since 1970.

Roads, runways, rail, fuel depot, and several bunkers were in place when construction stopped.(at least, that's what I played on as a kid) From what I understand, none of it's there anymore.

Little brother and nephew are on their way back to Moab again. Maybe little brother can show us how not to climb a hill again. Watch this space.
