Hello from Texas!
Hi all, Ruben here from Laredo and I am hoping to buy a new 149cc Tao Tao in a couple of weeks. hoping some folks here can me to where I can buy one with the least amount of headaches.
Likely going to purchase the Quantum Tour or Lancer or even the VIP one as that model seems to be real popular, my budget is about 1K. I need simple transportation to work. I know I have to change the oil/gear oil, spark plug, maybe the CDI and hoses but apart from this, are they pretty reliable if you wrench on it yourself? Oh yes, almost forgot, need to adjust the valves right? |

Welcome aboard. I don't own a scooter but do own an ATV with the 150cc engine. These engine are bullet proof and very reliable. In the three years I have own it all I have done to it is the normal maintenance of changing oil and lubricating the chain. I sure someone will chime in that can answer any question you have.

Welcome, Ruben! Like Jerry, I have a 150cc ATV with the same motor; mine has been punished for 11 years, with things like riding two-up while towing a Jr. dragster with a kid in it. It is a rock-solid motor.
