Rakatak

Im looking into buying this bike and was curious about anyone else's experience with the dealer.

The ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other...spagenameZWDVW

They get you a real title and everything so it looks pretty legit, but I never know about these things.

On a side note, anyone with experience with this particular bike please feel free to share

I think the dealer is ok, but the paperwork for a few guys here caused them problems (it depends on which state/how much of an anal retentive state) with street registration. They did order dual sports, but the bikes were supposed to be 49-state DOT/EPA certified like this street bike. Just be cautious, and maybe research with you motor vehicle department before ordering. This dealer has been around a while, and will have some in a few weeks, so don't feel pressured to order, and then find out your state is giving you the runaround!

I see the shipping cost is $399, many places have bikes for the same price, but with free shipping.

From looking around the past week or so most bikes i've found with the same or similar specs and style sell for about the same. Bike plus shipping are always around $1450 or so depending on the model. This one would wind up in the same area since the auction will probably end at around $1000.

If i saw this bike for $1000 including shipping i'd be all over it, right now im going to end up driving about 5 hours to the seller's store and buy it in person to check it out before dropping the cash... and i guess an added bonus would saving about $300 of the $400(after paying for gas for the trip).

On a side note, if anyone knows a Lufan dealer closer to me (ashland Ky) let me know!

In person is the way to go, unless you found a killer deal online

You'd better give Rakatak a call before you drive down there, as his Ebay ad states "NO PICKUPS FROM OUR LOCATION! CALL US!!" in large red letters.

You're right! Maybe i would have noticed big blue letters

I planned on calling first anyways, but if he wouldnt allow pick up it'd just be a lost sale for him. The only reason I was looking at that particular version of the Lifan was to see it first hand and save some dough on shipping.

Brian did have some of the older street bikes left at a good price. You may want to call him up.

Wildfire is Wildfire under many different names on e~Bay but they are not Rakatak. Rakatak is Rakatak and in a different location, they are in Lorain, Ohio.

Second: Read all of his e~Bay Feed Back!
