Couple more pics of the Maggot

I haven't been able to touch the bike since I got it off the trailer, still gotta work for a livin'. And that's a 3 hour plane ride away this week.

A far as what's missing, I have the radiator shroud and the rear rack with the turn signals. Also have the stock bars.

I kind of like the look without the rear fender but if I keep it that way I'm going to have to come up with some way to mount the plate. Probably won't get out on it this year, either, the way things look at work.(Trip to Italy coming up, trade show[ :x ] in Minneapolis soon, crap breaking down all over the country) I guess it beats being unemployed.

So, winter project.

Once I got used to its unique profile, I always liked the CX500 motorcycle. I think a shaft drive is the bee's knees for a street bike! Please do keep us updated, Cheesy!

Nuts, the kid that works for me was just down in your area and he owes his boss an engine haulage. I dragged a 327 small block for his 52 Chevy back from Springfield, MO last year.

What year and what are you asking?

1982. Scrap is worth about $20. I have it listed on ebay for the third time. I will probably be going north in October.

I saw a half dozen or so listed. Which one?

This one. It has about 50K miles on it. Was running about 2-3 years ago when the stator went out.

Don't blame you. I'm gonna pass on it, though. Not concerned about the engine but would hate for you to drag it with you up to MN and then I end up having to be halfway around the world when we should sipping coffee in Janesville.

It has happened before.

We usually cut over through MO and IA, but I have stopped in Janesville many times.

I would rather sell it to the local guy for $25 than mess with shipping. BTDT to much hassle.

I've decided to un-cafe the Maggot. After I saw how the previous owner tried to attempt his cafe conversion, I said "Heck no!" What a hack job.

Got a correct rear inner fender w/toolbox on the way and a bid hanging on a rear cowl. Still need to come up with a seat or at least a seat pan. Will be done rebuilding the master cylinder tomorrow(Packers playing right now  life comes to standstill at cheesy manor when that happens) and check on my welding job on the tank in the morning.

I had a 79 CX500 Custom that I rode for a couple of summers... It had a small fairing on it and (I think?) a king queen seat. Lol, used to take my girlfriend (then wife, now ex) to the movies on it in Edmonton and then drive back in the pitch dark... Ah, the good old days
