Hawk NGK Plug question

When I ordered my Hawk, I ordered a handful of upgrades also. So I finally got around to installing the NGK 2202 (DPR8EIX-9) today, but it does not match up with the Torch D8RTC that came out. The plug wire end of the old plug is much smaller than the new one. There is a brass insert in the plug wire, but it is threaded in.

Was I supposed to order a new plug wire, have they changed design, or am I missing something?

If I understand part of the question, unscrew the silver cap on the new plug for the spark plug wire to slip on. Wrench on the hex portion of the plug and pliers to unscrew the silver cap. It's not real tight on there.
