Hi-Bird 250 trans issue
I picked this atv up in a box. All the young kid told me is he pulled it apart because the headgasket was leaking it wouldn't start anymore. Long story short, ordered a jug, piston, and gasket set and put it together. Crank turns nicely in neutral but once I put it in gear to get it to top dead center and set the valves, the engine would not turn. Tried everything I could think of to spin it over using the output shaft and nothing helped. Decided to pull the filter screen and found a few small pieces of metal and the end of the dipstick that apparently twisted off. Now none of these pieces look like major parts failures, mostly look like shims but I haven't pulled it apart yet to really find out. That is why I am here, how bad are these to split? I have the extra gaskets to do it so that is not the issue. Just have no idea how bad this process is and would like it to run if that is at all possible.
Thanks for any help, DS79 |
