Help on HOFI Brand

Hello.
Fun reading,Very informative
Seems as though It would take a lot of reading to sort out all the elements of the China Motorcycle World! Can anyone give me the 420 on this Bike thats caught my Eye. I live in Panama, and It's Sold by FI-AMERICA.( David,Panama) The Brand is HOFI.Seems allright, nice looking, I guess you could say It's a Harley Knockoff..250cc Engine.
I looked all over it looking for a Factory name, since I think the HOFI Label is just THAT, a Label..
I've seen a few in my Searching, that look a LOT like it made by various other Chinese Manufacturers.I'll try and Post a Pic.Thanks for any Help

Az200 and all.

Where is a place that I can Post some Photos in? Where do you Guys/Gals Post ? I find it totaly amazing, that a Person(Me) can Buy A Motorcycle, and not even Know who made it..It's a HOFI,but I sure this Dealer here in Panama Re-labels it. The only Marks on the whole Bike(Permenent) are the ID Numbers, and SHENG WEY on the Carb!
It's a beautiful Bike, like I said in my first Post,I guess you would call it a Harley Knock-off,250cc,5speed,and the Engine Barrels and Head/Valve Cover is kinda like the H/D EVO (kinda square).I need to set it up for 4500ft Elev. What do you do? Take it for a short hard run,and then look at the Spark Plugs? Thanks for any Replys.Ken

I post in my gallery--set up an account, and put a photo in there, or a link to the HOFI site.

250cc Harley knock-off? You mean, like a 1951-1963 Harley Hummer? This bike I want to see.

Anyway, can you give us the first three digits of the 17 alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)? Provided the VIN is legit, that will positively identify the manufacturer.

AZ200cc,Culcune,and TCS..
Thanks for your input.I've Registered for the Gallery,BUT, waiting to be"Accepted".I have some Photos I'll Post in the Gallery As per your suggestion .The other offer of Identifying the Bike with the VIN Number, is great, thank you in advance. Some good Help!
the VIN (Chasis number, right?) is LXY*******Etc Etc.
And Culcune,There IS NO Website for HOFI,Thats why I'm a little Nervous about this CHINESE BIKE THING.I was given the wrong Parts Manuals and had to return 45miles (each way) and WAIT while they found a Manual that showed TWO Pistons(250cc) in the Photos.!
We got some Hella-fine Mountain Roads down here in Panama, all well Paved.Ken

I would hesitate to jump into this unknown brand of bikes, but being in the US, we won't get "local" brands of Chinese bikes, so HOFI might be the big name there for Chinese bikes, like Itallika is in Mexico. What might be labled a Zongshen in the US, might be HOFI, although 'tcs' showed us who the manufacturer in China is (I still have never heard of them). Just keep this in mind. And why are you not interested in an enduro?

Well, this changes everything, tcs!! Personally, stoneshirt, I would try to get them to import the GY200 VII--really!! Search through for member 'supersignet's photos of his bike.

TCS,Culcune,and all.
Thanks,It is very satisfying to learn all this. Now I know I have a ShineRay!! If you care to,go to www.photobucket.com and type in stoneshirt, for my Album. There is so much confusing info ,but my Registration says my Engine is a 253FMM, which seems to be used in quite a few street Bikes.I would really like to find a source for the Complete Lowdown on this Engine.Carburator,Oil Capacity,Valve Clearance,Spark plug upgrade,Etc.
I live in Panama, where "EveryProject is a Adventure" and feel kind of out of the Loop for Help/Info.ShineRay Website does'nt even show my Model(250cc)...Roll On.Ken

Shineray is the OEM for Hofai, so this is Hofai's brand, but is technically Shineray manufactured, so you wouldn't necessarily see it on the Shineray site.

Nice bike-I like the wheel combo. Keep us updated as you add miles to it. There will be someone here to help you as you rack up the miles.
