Western NC This Weekend
Beautiful evening at Iron Horse Lodge near Robbinsville NC. if the weather cooperates some tomorrow, I hope to take the CB across the forest service roads around the Cherohala Skyway. Enjoying the cool evening here in the mountains. good sleeping weather!

Despite a little bit of rain today I had a great day on the hawk. I rode some of the forest service and back roads around the Cherohala Skyway. Stopped at a couple waterfalls for the obligatory photo ops.
had a couple mishaps on the Hawk. after about 3 hours of riding the chain had gotten good and hot and stretched some. so I hit a pretty good bump and threw the chain. fortunately it came off on the inside of the sprocket so was on the rear wheel hub. put it back on and then got the tools out to tighten the chain and axle. Just prior to that I had stopped for a brief break and noticed that my South Dakota license plate had broken!  Managed to make it up to the top of the skyway though. notice the beautiful views in the picture below.
