250 cc scooter

Hello everyone, I am having a difficult time finding any company online that has a 250cc to 300cc scooter in stock. All the websites have them listed but when I call they are all on backorder. I called one place in California and placed an order for a Mc-54 back on March 18th. I was told new stock would be in in April and if I put a deposit down I would be assured to get one. So I sent them a deposit and call them every week but keep getting different stories. The last time I called they said customs wouldn't release the shipment and they don't know when it will be released. But another shipment was due the end of May . It seems I get a different story everytime I call. Does anyone know where I could find a scooter , I live in Texas. Thanks for any help

Bobcat Motorsports.
This is where we ordered Libby's Zodiac from.
Had the bike in just a few days, and the MSO/BOS within 4 days after
the bike arrived. They were GREAT to do business with. Very prompt
at answering e-mails. And so far have been very generous about a few
nit picky things I found wrong with the Zodiac. ( one broken mirror, missing trim bolt, slight tear in the seat, all free replacement )
.
SAYS this is in stock:

Search regional Craigslist for a used Sym or Kymco.

Thanks to everyone, it seems even the business that I was referred to is sold out and waiting for a new shipment. I guess I will have to wait for more to arrive from the company that I gave a deposit to. End of May or early June I was told. It just seems odd that they are still advertised for sale on many websites but they don't have any. I don't know if its a customs thing going on or if China just can't keep up with demand for the 250cc models. Just got my motorcycle school done last weekend and have a new license with a M on it so I can't wait.

Check your local CraigsList for a Honda Helix. The king of 250 scooters.

X2

I have one of those myself Walt. If you ride one, you will be hooked.
STILL TO THIS DAY the longest wheelbase of the maxi scooters. Even an inch longer than the big ol Burgman 650. And parts are both cheap and very plentiful for them. Just today I got tired of screwing with my carb, and just broke down and ordered a complete new carb for a whopping $60 shipped.
LOL
Not to mention, a NEW Chinese scoot is something like $2400
I paid $800 for my Helix with 19,000 miles on it, and after 2 new tires, chrome dress up goodies, new windshield, new top case, heap of LED lights, new brakes, new carb, new mirrors, new handgrips, ummmmmmmmm, I am sure there is something I left out. LOL BUT, all that and I STILL don't have $1500 in the old bird and it WILL STILL outlast any new Chinese scooter made. Just how it is. I have many friends in the scooter clubs I have become acquainted with / am a member of, plus those on the Helix owners Facebook group. Trust me, it is nothing for these things to pass 40k mi. without any kind of catastrophic failure. Several have even seen 60k mi. It IS a Honda, after all. OH, and they are VERY easy to work on to boot.

Same goes for a 250 Yamaha Morphous. Only about 1700 were imported to the US, so body parts are pretty much a Japanese only thing, but the basic engine and running gear is interchangeable with the 400 Majesty. In fact many swaps have been done. It is a relatively simple bolt in and even the electronics are plug and play.
