rear shock modification

hi all, being 6ft 3in i found the gy clone a bit low as standard so i have done some mods...
i have found that a honda cbr 400rr nc23 shock fits on ok with a little mod to the shock linkage to allow clearance of the lower mount of the shock. the cbr400 shock is far more heavy duty, rate adjustable, and has red coils which looks pretty too. it raises the height of the bike by approx 2 to 3" but reduces the "sag" in the rear suspension when rider is sat on. it improves the handling too and you don't get as much pitch and roll in acceleration/braking and cornering. now the bike rides mint. im very happy with how the bike rides and recommend the mod.
DO NOT TRY THE CBR600 SHOCK AS THE COILS ON THE SPRING ARE TOO WIDE AND FOUL THE FRAME!!

bike 2005 gy200 dajiang (see previous posts for standard pics) will try + get some uploaded pics of the mod.

cheers gary

Thanks for the info Gary.

What year CBR did the donor shock come from?

To what do you attribute hitting 6'3"? Green vegetables? :P
