That's an excellent idea. Are you saying that you keep one end connected to the battery at all times, and then plug in the tender as required? If so, may I recommend that you change the configuration? What I mean is that the connector from the battery has one exposed terminal and one that is insulated; it would be best to use the insulated terminal as the positive connector, so it doesn't contact ground while you're riding.

The diagram depicts the exposed terminal as positive. Of course, it isn't critical if you have some form of boot that covers the connector when not in use.

i would swap the connectors so the positive isn't exposed, if it shorts for very long than your battery will suddenly be totally dead for a while and can cause permanent damge. i found out the hard way trying to jump four wheelers connecting on cable the the negative side and one to the frame :oops: Battery never really charged right and could only turn the motor over for 5 sec before it was dead.

yes ,i should have swapped them, The pc does stay on the zong and my harley all the time, for this one i did wrong i push a small pc of nitro rc fuel line on the exposed terminal,and it seems to fit real snug ,sometime i might change it ,but you get the idea for the price its a deal i have 2 of these set-ups and another one i left alone with the alligator clips.
