Head Scratching Black Rubber Grommet w/Wires near small chain sprocket.

Hi all,

Tao was running great. I have a few things torn apart. I want to say the stator needs to be replaced as I have replaced everything else. No spark. But I am having trouble learning what the wires in the grommet are that install into to the casing of the engine next to the small chain sprocket, pictured.

Mtmmx 120ata is the engine family tao tao 125 cheetah. Can someone Identify that part for me?

It's the gear selector switch if I'm seeing it right. It grounds each wire in turn as it shifts into that gear.

@mudflap - Hmmm. Thank you for the quick response. But would those wires have anything to do with the no spark issue? I'm buying the stator and all that. I will replace that gear selector wiring harness though.

Mad

Those won't cause no spark. CDI, coil or stator are the usual suspects.
