Shift Indicator Problem

My Magician shift indicator has stopped working. Has anyone had a problem with this component?
The face does not light up, but when I turn on the left signal, a blinking red light appears in the face. It's almost like a backfeed from somewhere.
I checked all the wiring and resoldered a couple of connections, but the problem persists.
Any help is gratly appreciated.
Vince
PS I have not installed the new springs yet.

the shift indicator works on a typical black wire 12v postive feed with each gear corresponding colored wire terminating on the sender with each wire then making a complete circuit depending on which gear turns the contact drum...

If non of the gears are showing its more than likely a bad 12v feed (black) connection. your indicators could be interfering with the main fed wire.

if its just 1 faulty gear then you can trace it by the corresponding wire. Or the gear display might be faulty...

Did you check the bus connector (typically 6 wires) that comes out of the area just behind the stator?

It might just be disconnected. The lead could be fed up to the area behind the gas tank if it is long enough.

Well guys. It's fixed. I made a big mistake. I thought all the plastic connectors were different sizes so you could not make a mistake with connections. Turns out I was wrong. There are two identical sizes and I had them switched.Connected properly, every thing works. However, your ideas put me onto it. As I started checkling power and ground wires, I had one green wire that did not register to ground. After following the wire, I realized there was no ground wire on the other side of the connector. AHA That's when I realized I had them connected incorrectly.

Anyway, thanks so much for your help. This forum is great.
