Stock Pannier & Top Box Dimensions
I'm sure this is here somewhere but I've apparently not hit the right keywords in my search attempts to access it. Can somebody point me to the stock pannier and top box dimensions? Also, are the Tourfella racks available separately? And if so, how much. Thanks.

Thanks Jerry. I'm actually looking for the dimensions of the stock boxes, and if the Tourfella racks are available separately.
My assumption is the stock boxes will be a little small for what I'm planning, so I'm trying to get a feel for their size, and if that's the case I'm trying to see if the Tourfella racks are available without their luggage as I think I can make something happen cheaper. |

If it were ME, I’d use the stock racks and some wolfman or ortleib soft bags.

Cheap AND functional. Not always easy to make work.
I have a couple TWs with racks of 1/2-inch electrical conduit. $10 will get 30 feet. Hand bender ran about $30. The bottoms of the side racks are hinged to fold up inside the verticals when empty and when extended hold canoe bags. Canoe bags are relatively cheap, tough, waterproof, and have comfortable handles for lugging inside. A few bungies attach on rack securely. Shop carefully--some bags are junk, good ones last and stay waterproof through anything short of 70mph crash on pavement. When that happens the last thing on your mind will be the dirty undies inside. A couple plastic tool boxes bolt to racks and lock securely, canoe bags then go on top. I use a Rubbermaid Roughneck plastic storage bin for a top box. Takes locks on the lid. Other brands and metal boxes will also work. |

The outside dimensions of the stock top and side cases are around 15" wide, 11-1/4" tall, and 8" deep. The right side case narrows to 4 3/4" to make room for the muffler. I wish the top trunk was about 4" deeper so my helmet would fit in it.

Nope. Don't do pictures. I've been through 5 or 6 picture hosting sites over the years, Photobucket being the last, and they all screw up their software and I can no longer load pictures, get links, etc., or they start sending me bills and tons of popups for their "free" services.
So, all my trip threads now look like this and I don't want to invest the hours my computer stupid brain needs to make everything work again. So why bother? |

Outstanding, fjm!
The plastic boxes are notched to clear the muffler. The aluminum boxes the bracket over the muffler is wider for clearance. The left side box actually touches the turn signal on my RX3, the right side box sits outboard enough to clear the muffler. Kinda wonky. Well, it was kinda wonky. My son welded up some wider brackets for the left side. I used the extra space inside the bracket for a diamond plate aluminum tool box. It is kind of wide, so considering a lower muffler and moving the right side inboard. There is always a madness to my method. |

Yeah, one change from the 15 to 16 from Zong was a different set of rear blinkers which are wider than previous. Tourfella hasn’t adjusted the brackets to accommodate this so we just replace the bolt with a longer one and a shim to move it out so it doesn’t touch the box.
