magnetic tank bag

i bought this magnetic tank bag on ebay for around $20, the thing is great it doesnt slide around there is a compartment for the phone and pleanty of room in it for other items.

i was out on the hawk yesterday checking out a few of my fishing holes to see if the water was low enough to get into them, after about two hours i noticed that the gas gauge was still pegged out on full. when i took the bag off to look into the tank the gauge dropped down to half tank, which is what was in the tank, when i put the bag back on it went back to full. the only thing i can think that is going on is that the magnets are somehow interfering with the sending unit in the tank,

just something to keep in mind if you use one of these, i have seen others here with them.

Thanks for the heads-up on the magnets/fuel bobber issue. I have a bag for Mrs 2LZ TT250 and haven't even looked for it. I will tonight.
My guess would be the strong magnets are tugging the bobber up to "full".
