CDI Units

My Keeway Speed has a copy of the Honda Cg 125 engine fitted. As I had a Cg I have a spare CDI unit. The unit looks the same and has the same connections. Is it safe to remove the Keeway CDI unit and plug in the one off the Cg? I would like to see if it could be used as a spare as soms of you have highlighted Chinese made CDI failures.

CDI failure isn't that common in the "bread & butter" (Honda clone) model.
Don't know from which year. The later CG isn't plug & play to chinese.

Humanbeing, does that graph mean the rev limit is 11000rpm?

irishbiker125, the China CDI like yours is cheap as chips. You'll likely find them on eBay for a good price, including shipping. It's good to have a couple of spares around, even if only for testing.

Thanks guys for the info. Cg spare CDI is off the 125M model made in Turkey in 2001. But as suggested I will probably buy a like for like spare off ebay and bring it with me on my journeys.
