new hellcat 125cc puking oil

hello, literally just purchased a hellcat 125cc for my son for Christmas. started it and ran it a bit to make sure it will be alright for him to ride and noticed oil pouring off of the left side. further inspection revealed the oil was coming from the clutch adjustment side cover and running down the case.

I have yet to remove the screw and those 2 plates to inspect that seal area. (He got home from school so I have to wait ) In the meantime figured I would ask if this is a common issue on a brand new bike. Hoping its a seal issue and not a crap casting or someting worse!

My crankcase breather was blocked at the air box. Maybe check if crankcase building pressure and finding a weak seal.

Sorry, cannot help you on the oil, but I still laugh to this day watching the newscaster reading the names off. You can watch it on youtube.

ok, had time to look at the bike again today. Removed the screw and those plates from for the clutch arm (not sure what to call it). I found the seal around that shaft pushed out about halfway.

Going with the assumption that this seal was initially seated properly at the factory and got pushed out by high crankcase pressures, I removed the hose from the case and could not blow through it. Checked the hose/filter and found acceptable resistance. connected small hose to the air box and found it is 100 percent blocked! Cant see in the nipple very well but theres something blocking it . Has anyone else had this? wonder whats inside blocking it. Also, what all needs pulled off to gain access and remove the airbox?

thanks as always,

Jrok

See my reply.

Just drill out the nipple with the airbox in place and reconnect vent hose.

Drilled out airbox (pushed out really) and re seated oil seal and have driven it a few miles without issue. So I would assume the issue is resolved
