Thinking about buying a 250

Hello All,

I've been riding bikes for a long time, mostly my KLR650 I had. I am looking to buy a small bike to keep at my cabin at Mt Hood. This will not get a ton of use so I am not looking to spend a lot on a bike that I might ride once a month or so. That being said, I am 6'3" 200lbs with 34 inseam and want to know the best options for a 250. A few more questions:

Can you get riser links for these bikes? I did for my KLR and loved it.
Need a bike that I can run AUX LED lights (around 20-25 watts total)
Would prefer balanced but not a must
maybe regear? will only be on forest roads and mountain back roads. Only need about 50 mph tops. will not be on the highway.

May be tough to get a Hawk registered in Oregon but no problem for a CSC TT250. As far as fitting a 6'3" guy, I'm sure some tall guy who owns one will chime in. I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam and my old Lifan 200 fits me well. I think the TT250 is similar in size. Standard 7/8" risers ought to work if you're talking about bar risers, and the TT250 has enough electrical output to handle the extra load.

good call, I might need to verify that for the Hawk. The TT250 looks good but what is the out the door cost? $2600? I also noticed the Brozz 250 on sale for $1750. is it the same as the TT?

I'm 6'1, 260pnds, my Brozz fits me well. So did my hawk. The tt250 and hawk are very similar, so size wise they really shouldn't differ unless I'm missing something. My Brozz sits and fits me really the same as my hawk did. The rear suspension seems stiffer on the Brozz though.

At 6'4 and with the same inseam I can flat foot my Hawk with ease. Not uncomfortable to ride at all. There are some risers out there to get the bars up a bit higher if needed. I have riser adapters for my fat bars on my Hawk.

Do you ever make it to Bend, OR? If so you are welcome to come take a look at my tt-250.
Registration was no problem, other than you have to pay the new motorcycle tax. $10 can't do this at the DMV, you have to go on-line.

I have just over 200 miles on mine so far. Runs fine, idles smooth, good power with no dead spots, factor jets. Mine starts fine, but seems like the starter is almost too small. I load tested the battery and it tested fine. I plan do some checking. Maybe they ran too small of wire to the starter, poor ground connection. I would hope the timing is set correct, almost acts like it could be too advanced? Not sure. Maybe it just the way they all are.

1st oil change at about 30 miles, screen was clean. so was my dad's bike.
