A warning to Apollo 250 owners looking to change front counter sprocket.

Hi all, so i was looking to increase top speed on my 2018 Apollo DB-36 Deluxe enduro, so i ordered a 17T front counter sprocket. The Apollo 250 comes standard with a 530 pitch chain, stock front sprocket is 14T. 17T, WILL NOT FIT. I believe it can fit a 15T, 16T at max. Hope this saves someone else the time and trouble.

Just to clarify on what "does not fit" means? Can't get the sprocket cover back on or the chain hits the side of the case? With the hawk you have to grind down the cover to get it back on but the 17 tooth sprocket works. Also I think the problem could be people use a 17 tooth on a 428 chain. With a 520 chain a 13 tooth is close to the same size as a 17 tooth 428 chain.

So, on the DB-36 deluxe what is the top speed? Been debating on the deluxe or the standard Db-36. Mostly dirt for me but a street legal would be nice.

because the Apollo has such a bigger chain (530 pitch) its just not possible to modify, i accidentally bought a sprocket for a hawk at first, hawk 17T sprocket is 3" diameter, Apollo 17T sprocket is 3 3/4" diameter, add chain and its like 4". i should of took pics. Top speed on Apollo 250 is 62 mph, and thats maxed out.

originally i ordered a hawk on pre-order but couldn't wait, so i ended up getting Apollo DB-36 deluxe. im mostly dirt myself, but thought the street legal form would be handy, but living in the desert with these 17" wheels and enduro tires (supermoto style) in mostly sandy terrain is wishy washy, im probably going to swap front wheel with a 21" knobby. other then that im happy with the bike.

I'm in the desert as well. I was wondering on the 17" tires. I was thinking about the deluxe and just swap out wheels later. That would probably be easier than getting the off road model and swapping gauge cluster and headlight.

@rags, from my researching the DB36 deluxe i have heard the 15 is as far as ur gonna push it without modding and a 16 "could be possible" with grinding. I do not own one but have looked into it quite a bit. I hope this helps.
@Dedbolt, the cost of a good set of 12/18 wheels is 400-500 plus tubes tires rim locks...about 700. To DOT the bike by kits is 150 and can be pieced together in much greater abilities for less. See everide on dot mods. Hope it helps

Holy cow. Didn't realize it was that much more for the rims and tires. Hadn't really looked into it much, yet. Thanks for the heads up Pitwolf!! Think I'll save some money and go for the off road model and go the other way a around.

I really don't think you have a 530 chain on that bike, I have never seen that gauge chain on ANYTHING Chinese that's aircooled CB CG etc only 300cc and up water cooled.

I would think 520 chain that is common but 530???????
Also I think (I might be wrong) 13 or 14 at very most is as big as you can fit in there in the 520 size.

lol 90 MPH while smoking crack, 530 chain was the spec on some website, could be wrong, but the sprocket i ordered was for 530 and it fits and works. and i was able to squeeze the 16T sprocket on there with a little trimming of the inside cover, tucking in stator wires, and bending the stator wires cover piece. I now cruise at 65 mph.

Mine is a 530. I ordered a custom rear sprocket and a 12 tooth front sprocket. It is defiantly a 530 chain.
