sack-slapped checking in :)
So I just finished working on my 2007 komoto the other day, thought I'd share some pics.
Long story: Was coming home from a ride, rode over a speed bump and where my motor mounts to the frame was broke.. Turns out, either 1. when I bought the bike there was only 1 support bolt, or 2. They all rattled out and I didn't know :!: Luckily I was about 20 feet away from the garage, so the motor didn't actually fall off. Basically the motor was held on by the chain. Ended up taking the entire motor off and having to re-weld the tab that broke off(the gold nut in the pictures). PS: Almost at 3K miles on my bike.. getting close![/img] |

Good to hear you got it fixed! Cool looking bike . I noticed from your photos that it looks like your carb intake boot is going to need replacement in the near future, it's pretty checked up.

I'm glad you were so close to home! 8O Loose bolts on the engine mounts are a recurring problem with many of the Honda clones.
P.S. If you reduce your photographs 50 percent the thread will be much easier to read. Spud

I hope the new mounts hold for you. Season liberally with Loctite for best results.

Fixed the size of the pictures, sorry about that.
The inside of the nuts are lined with plastic weldangrind, the kind where you have to use a wrench to tighten them the whole way. I hope to get some pics of it when I finish it, neither of the rear plastics are on, I'm going to paint them black to get rid of the odd looking flame on it, and get some other odds and ends to put it back into top shape. |
