Hi Al, thanks for joining us! If we had a pic of your machine, we could guide you. Your ATV could be one of a few different designs.

Most 125s are wet clutch that use the engine oil to lube transmission. The 150s have belt drive CVT scooter motors and use 80/90w gear oil in the final drive.

It looks like a wet clutch motor but it's difficult to see, as Bruce says. If it is a wet clutch motor, the crank and transmission share the same oil; most of us use 15W40. I gravitate towards Shell Rotella because it's cheap and plentiful.

oil

same as the TAOTAO t force,.... and all the other smaller atvs that run on engine oil.. 10-40... 15 -45 oil... no syntheci oil... I prefer diesel motor ol as it has more lead in it for lubrication

Yea that's a wet clutch. No transmission fluid. You need 15w40 rated Jaso MA/MA2. Like shell rotella t4. I like using 10w40 motorcycle oil in the winter. And the 15w40 in the summer.

Are they both wet clutches and with the original oil it was hard to accelerate when they were warm. Will new oil correct that?

Yes it might. Are these brand new? Or did you buy them used? If they are brand new you need to break the engine in. It's really important. Some of the guys can explain the proper way but for now don't push it to full throttle and don't run it all day or even over 20 to 30 mins at a time.
Then let it cool fully. Or use it the next day. But put the correct oil in first. About 3/4 of a liter. Maybe less. Check the dipstick.

So I attempted to fill the oil and I thought.... I'll just turn this silver lid on top of the engine and pour the oil in. Oil pour out the bottom. I guess it is not the oil fill area. My question is what is behind the cover and will it affect the daily operations?? Thanks for everyone s help here
Figures crossed
