Ural Re-store

Hi!

I'm Keith and I live in Maine work in N.H. and ride mostly Northern New England I am known as "Hogmaine" on sovietsteeds forum which will also have this project on a thread.

After 4 wonderful years my Ural (Putis) is in need of some cosmetic surgery. It seems as she cannot take the calcium and salt of the Maine winter roads. She has never left me stranded and always comes thru for me so this winter she will get a much needed and well deserved rest and restoration. The cancer is deep in some areas and just touching the surface in others. Her bare aluminum engine has absorbed the salt and it now excretes from her pores. I will post some pictures of her from new to her current state and onto the restoring of her beauty. I will be changing some of her features, colors, and accessories.

So that you get a full understanding of joy he has brought to me I will link videos for those who like to watch others having a great time. The videos contain mostly Urals, but feature TW200s, KLRs, Chang Jing CJ750s, BMW hacks and me and my cohorts in the beautiful New England countryside. Thanks for following my thread

I always thought those were a pretty neat bike ,but I am extra glad that when my failing eyes looking at the title for this thread were wrong as I don't care about "urinals" getting restored .
I know these are a very old design bike ,how is it in modern traffic and are they reliable ?

I watched the videos, and I loved them all! I presume that was Troy who was just givin' 'er through that water! Very funny.

I loved the Crown Royal bags hung from the tree with care. Warmed my Canadian heart.

I spotted the TDub in the Canadian Border video. Very sorry to hear about Buddy.

Funny Bruces my younger brother always ask "how is the urinal is doing" or I show up at his house on another bike and I get "what no urinal" to which I reply "I went before I left the house"

AZrider - There is nothing more fun than riding her in fresh snow!

I will do my best to make this thread informative and fun.
