wiring harness problem

Hi guys great forum ive leaned a lot here.Anyways bought a Hawk 250 and have put it together but the back light wiring is to short and im not sure if i did something wrong.Right now it is hooked up but stretched tight below the back fender.Any help would be appreciated.

I just got one a month ago, and mine seemed short also.
