Only efi in upper north America market. Not sure about eurasia / Africa market.

I wonder of other Italika bikes are all Zong based. I see that brand all over Mexico. I would think the bike is similar if not exactly the same bike as the Colombian version which is also carb'd.

what I meant was its not a csc rx3. You indicated its cheaper...no fuel injection and a few other things they add to their specs is worth it to some people

Its not a CSC because they arent the importer for Mexico. Whomever the import company is gets to spec out the bikes for their market. Fuel injected wont be an option there. Its as is. Just like carb models arent available through CSC. Its not like a car where you spend more for a higher level package. The f.i. should be the only real difference. The rest is how their economy is...import taxes, etc. Its a steal for 2800 US dollars.

Don't forget that the importer in Mexico made a deal with Zongshen based on some currency standard...then the peso-to-dollar cratered. It could be that the exchange rate of $ to peso is a big component of the difference between what CSC charges and the price in Mexico. It's a complicated arrangement. CSC also had to eat the cost of US EPA compliance. The Mexican bikes probably cannot be brought over into the US.

Well, um. Yeah, obviously it is not a "CSC" RX3.

I looked through all the specs on the Italika web site, it doesn't mention anywhere whether it is carburetted or fuel injected. It wouldn't surprise me if it was carburetted however, but I won't conjecture.

Regardless, the Mexicans now have a new good bike in their market at a great price.

Dan, I saw a YouTube video of the Italika being unveiled the other day. There is definitely a carb on the bike. I also saw a 15" rear tire.

I still wish these were sold under one worldwide name.

Thanks for posting that link to the Mexican version. It looks like the latest version of the RX3 has a different headlight. If the new light puts out more lumens and is plug-n-play I'd be interesting in upgrading mine. AD is correct about that 15" rear tire. Our 17" gives us more tire options but I bet it's easier to change the 15" since the sidewall is so tall.

Peter, I'm not sure on this, but I "think" the headlight looks like the original ones that came on the 2015 models ? Or the South American bikes. It's reported to not be as good as ours, and that's not saying much. It looks cool though. I wonder if the gearing is different. A 2" difference in tire height would have an effect on speed. Wouldn't matter for us, just thinking out loud.

Also, from what I've read, the KLR is just stupid expensive in Mexico, something close to 10K in USD. They have the Yamaha 250 Tenere, but it'll be interesting to see how many of these sell. I hope it's a ton, or being in Mexico...a metric ton.

I doubt it also has the 300 watt alternator that CSC specifies.

AdventureDad, the outer diameter of the 15" wheel/tire is actually about the same as the 17", much taller tire. That was noted on one of CSC early blogs about the RX3.
