Hawk Hack

Backstory:
I have had a dusty velorex 562 sitting in the back of my garage for the past 3 years. Winter is around the corner here in Wisconsin and I was bored so I decided to try mounting the Velorex to my hawk!

I still need to:
- change out the rear sprocket from a 43T to 51T
- tune steering geometry
- do wiring for sidecar lights
- figure out the sidecar aux brakes.

All in good time I suppose! For now I am just enjoying the ridiculousness of it all at a max of 30mph

What a great idea! Original 15/50 gearing should work perfectly for this. Should be able to cruise at 45, top out at 55...ARH

Hmmmmm! a little square tubing, tire and rim, Sheet metal work, I think I could fab one up. I might be able to get the wife ride with me. She used to ride all the time on the back of my other bikes. Now I can't get her on the back of my Hawk. She watched me climb to many steep hills and took many jumps. I think she got older and wiser lol.

Thanks, I would more than likely fab up everything myself. You know me, I'm a cheap bastard. I'm already looking up ideas and I'm supposed to be working lol. I have to fly this one up the pole with the wife. I would hate to do all that work and she still wouldn't want to ride. I know my daughter would in a heart beat. She would be out there helping me build it.

I started building this for a couple years ago but put it on the back burner
as i had no room.... it is one "well the main reason" I have built the new section
onto my shed... so I can finish it...
This unit will go on the XT660R... the bike will still beable to lean... As the bike leans the car
steers into the corner by useing a bigger arc ratio on the front mount than the rear..
May have gone a bit overboard on the suspension but it has a quickly adjustable ride hight/leveling
for diffrent loads... shock has adjustable spring preload/ rebound damping & compression damping..

My sig on ADV has a link to my first one... a cargo leaner on a XR250 built a few years ago now..

I am surprise you are not using a sub frame to spread the load.......pitty the exhaust is in the way
so you couldn't get a straight alinement on the top rear mount... keep a eye on it as it will want to turn..
see you havn't got alot of lead on the car wheel so your steering should not be to heavy ?..
