The package you Hawk riders have been waiting on......

Arrived at my house this evening! Opened it up and found the 20 clusters i ordered in good shape. Slapped one on my bike, Took less than 20 minutes and everything works! Some kind of bad news though. Speedo is off on the one i installed. Indicated 30mph, GPS reads 27mph. Indicated 50 MPH, GPS reads 45-46 so a little over 10% off at highway speeds. I guess it will keep a guy from getting a ticket lol! Factory said they could be set for 17-18 & 21' tires and i had them set at 21" I would guess if it was set at 18" the speedo would read under. The original sample i have reads within 1-2 mph so i'm not sure whats up. Still better than the factory one that was off 6-8 mph. Will install one more on a Hawk tomorrow and do an install video. Might just have to live with the speedo being off. Wondering now if it has to do with speedo set for road tires and the knobbies are throwing it off. Hopefully one of you guys getting one of the 1st run will have more dual sport tires to test this theory.

too bad it isn't like a trail tech where you can fine tune it.

I agree and i'm waiting for the factory to reply. I was going to get a Trail Tech but the cost is outlandish. I can deal with a speedo off a bit for $100 less lol!

Just got an e-mail from the factory. Guess this answers our question.

"Good to get your email.

The setting is like this: you disconnect the purple wire, then press the button, then start the bike.

short press to select 17,19,21 inch wheel size.

the default value we have for your meter is 21 inch, as you showed us your wheel size.

and one thing need you to know, all our meter speed shows 5%-10% higher than the actual speed, for the sake of driving safety.

it is a industrial hidden rule. "

Works on a Bashan 250 Storm?

I wonder if this would work on a Bashan Storm 250... I think it might.

Mine are a few bucks more but already have a harness and are plug and play on the Hawk. The 1st sample i got from China i had to build a harness from the cluster to the battery for 7 wires and had to go through all the wiring myself. Time is worth something to not have to do this.......

Have you approached CSC with it yet? I'm sure they would eventually get them directly, but, you might be able to sell them quite a few "samples" in the interim. I really wish I had got in on your current batch, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to place an order for the next batch.

OK All, Early this AM i switched the cluster to a 19" tire and the speedo is nearly dead on to the GPS. Reads 1/2 to 1mph fast now instead of almost 5. Will get it on the road tonight and see where it's at going highway speeds. Also will drain fuel out to see where low fuel comes on.
