Grrrrrrr.....Warning...Rant.

So, we're trying to mop up all the loose ends with the move, which is frustrating enough.....

For the first time in 30 years!....I caved in for 'pay TV' for Mrs 2LZ. In our new remote location, I really didn't want to gamble on whether the old roof antenna would pick anything up, so I gave in.

The entire structure was pre-wired, under the house, to almost every room, for DirectTV. The DTV dish was already installed as well. It's what's available there. I figured it would be a snap install, have the guy plug in the boxes, done. Obviously, I wasn't there during the install or it wouldn't have happened, if I saw what the guy was going to do.

HE CLIPPED ALL THE PRE-EXISTING COAX, THAT WAS SO NEATLY RUN UNDER MY HOUSE AND RAN A NEW, BRIGHT WHITE CABLE UP THE WALL, UP OVER THE OUTSIDE OF THE GUTTER AND ACROSS THE MOST VISABLE PART OF THE STRUCTURE AND PROCEEDED TO BORE A NEW HOLE INTO MY MASTER BEDROOM UPSTAIRS!!!!!!! WTH!?   :x :x  :x

Now I know that I've heard, "Well, they don't use the pre-existing because connections have changed or the wire has gotten better, or the planets have realigned or whatever their latest excuse is. If that be the case, why not change all the cabling to the dish?...like he didn't???
Fact was, he took the cheeseball, easy, lazy way out and ran a fat white cable straight across the face of my new house!

I've contacted them to both, vent my extreme frustration and also in hopes of at least getting the coax changed to black so at least it doesn't look like my new home is flossing!

My next project is palm sand and oil the entire structure this summer. This fat, bright white wire is not acceptable.

Lazy morons. The world's packed full of them.

I know there are far bigger problems in the world and that, I'm just at the end of my proverbial rope after sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag and eating garbage for the last month....but thanks for listening.

I've had similar challenges with installers. It amazes me how they'll grab a drill with a long bit and just bore through the outside of the house. I'd be worried about hitting 14/3 in the wall.

I hope they sort it out for you.

Sorry to hear that.

I totally get it why you're aggravated. Lord knows I would be too.

I think these places give a cave man a DeWalt and a big bit and let them go to town.

I hope they make it right for you and that they don't take forever doing it.

I don't blame you for being mad, 2LZ. 8O I agree with the others; I'd call them and tell them to fix it. I hope they make things as right as possible.
