flat tracking

sorry about the pics ,was in a hurry and messed up a bit.Hope everyone enjoys them any how, The old triumph really gave the Ktm a run , but lost it at the finish by shear horsepower, The rider of the triumph was very good, and if he had been on the new ktm he would have run away with it.

Boy that does look like a fun day. The only flat tracking I've seen has been on TV. Looks pretty cool!

The vintage Harley is very nice. In what town was the event held?

flat track racing

They run a complete AMA sanctioned schedule,so i thought i would take the girlfriend and ride the softail to the races, It was held at the Gratz fairgrounds, gratz, PA on the old horse racing cinder - gravel track. The track dates back to 1879.It was like going back in time, still some unmolested country, and passing the amish in their buggies was common .

Indeed, that is a beautiful region of Pennsylvania. I frequently encounter the Amish buggies when I visit my mother in Northwest Pennsylvania. The poor, Amish horses really get a real workout on the highways, even on the secondary roads in the Allegheney Highlands! I am surprised more Amish are not injured in traffic accidents involving speeding, reckless motorists. :(
