looking for a bolt

my 2005 roketa gy-5 200 broke the upper engine mount bolt. it's an m10x1.25x224.
roketa wants $32+s&h for just that one bolt.

i got a piece of 3/8 all thread, lock washers and nuts to make a temp replacement bolt.

anyone got a line on a reasonably priced "real" replacement bolt???

I think your best bet for finding a suitable replacement bolt would be to contact a company such as Fastenal and giving them the bolt specs. They will most likely be able to find something suitable in grade 10.9.

Beat me to it and it will more than likely be $22-25 + shipping. Don't run it to long with the all thread as it will start eating into the metal. you could take a smooth rod and thread both ends.

i tried fastenal in pikeville ky, they said they would have to have one made, special order. and it would probably have a carriage bolt head, with the square block underneath.
i thought about allthread doing damage to the bolt hole as a possibility too, i may have to just order the 32$ bolt from roketa...

why not just replace it with a 3/8" x 9" bolt? those are easy to find.

This is a good idea, or buy 3/8" rod and thread both ends to accept a nut.

Or try a longer one with a different thread pitch. https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/35104

still looking, so far the best i can find is a 3/8-16x9 stainless hex bolt at boltdepot.com. ($3.86)
they don't have a flange bolt in a 3/8x9in grade 8 or 10 more than 3 inches long.

https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-De...x?product=7211

i may be paying 32$ for a roketa bolt after all...

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the flange head on the bolt itself. Washer and a lock washer behind the head of the bolt, and the same thing on the nut side would work just as well. Toss on some loctite to the nut, and it wouldn't budge. Functionally it would be just as good. Visually, maybe not as pretty, but I never bothered with pretty.

The one I linked is also grade 10.9, which is exactly what you want. It's only 16mm longer than the original bolt. remove 4 mm of that length for the 2 washers and 2 lock washers, and that only makes it 12mm, or just slightly less than half an inch longer. If the added length bothers you, then with a cutting wheel and/or a grinder, you can remove any extra length you do not need.

Beyond that, then yes you are looking at paying $32 for a bolt. Seems ridiculous to most, but not to me. That is considered a specialty fastener. It is not a standard size, and likely specifically made in batches for Roketa. If you think that is ridiculous, we have a specialty screw at my work that has M4 threads that are 8mm long with a specific head size that acts as a pin with a flat head slot that costs us to the tune of $275 ea. at my work. I about choked on my lunch when I saw the price per unit on it.

Would this work? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bol...-203538239-_-N
Home Depot is where I bought nuts for my exhaust flange. They’re (5/16”-20) or more commonly known as (M8 - 1.25) if I remember correctly.
