DB36 Camshaft upgrade?
new here but not new to riding/workin on bikes. i have a 98 sportster, 09 street glide, and 20 toa db17. i just got an Apollo db36 and immediately installed a pwk30 on it. im looking to install a performance cam shaft in it for more power, preferably in the mid rpm range, any suggestions?

Camshaft
Hi tksbelcher,I'm thinking the crf230 cam is the same. I have a db36 myself and these engines are overhead cam unlike the hawk and brozz engines which are push rod engines. Hope this helps

Cams for the CRF230 will work on these engines.

Do they use the same double bearing design? I thought that the cams run as plain bearings in the head.

That’s a solid move for more grunt in the mid-range. I went down that road with one of my bikes, and it's a bit of a balancing act. You’ll want to research and maybe even chat with some folks who've done the same to their rides. The right cam can really wake up your engine, but it’s all about finding that sweet spot for your riding style.
And just a heads-up, if you’re ever in the market for fuel system parts down the line, I found some pretty affordable fuel pump injectors for sale at Goldfarb & Associates. They're diesel specialists, but their inventory’s extensive, and they really know their stuff when it comes to fuel delivery. Might be worth a look if you plan to tweak more than just the cam.
