Two New Hawk Riders in MT

My buddy and I just bought Hawks, been lurking here doing research for awhile so figured I better be polite, say hello and thank you all for all the great info. Really impressed with these little bikes so far especially for the money. Waiting on our jet kits to show up, our bikes are definitely a little lean. Other than that so far I’ve tack welded a couple thin washers onto the chain adjusters to thicken them up a bit, makes chain adjustments a lot easier. Also doubled the height of the stock front spring spacers, made a huge difference for the better in how the bike handles and rides. Seen several methods of doing that, I used a couple cheap 5/8 spark plug sockets, perfect height and keeps my Chinese bike all Chinese

Will post pics as soon as I have a chance to sit down and remember how, LOL. Been awhile since I’ve been active on a forum, LOL. Yes I did do a lot of homework here and on YouTube. MotoCheez and Oddballperformance have been great resources. My buddy and I are not new to motorcycles by any means, I’m a long time vintage bike enthusiast and I gotta say it’s a blast working on my Hawk. Similar experience to vintage Japanese bikes except the parts are more available and dirt cheap. Makes it so much more fun to tinker when I don’t have to save for months and scour the globe for every part, or refinance my house like when I need parts for my vintage Harley, LOL.
